What was it like to be a teacher in Avon Schools in the years before and after voters approved the 2018 Operating Referendum?
"Then came 2018 and with it a turning point. Thanks to the community's support and a successful referendum, we began to see real change. One of the biggest wins for our students was the addition of STEM classes to our related arts rotation. I was honored to be Avon Intermediate School West's STEM teacher from 2018-2020. That role allowed me to see firsthand the impact of smaller class sizes and hands-on learning. We were teaching state computer science standards in ways that were engaging and accessible and the students were thriving."
