Referendum Renewal Voting Information

Referendum Renewal Voting Information

On Tuesday, November 4, Avon and Washington Township voters will have the opportunity to participate in a special election regarding the Renewal of the voter-approved 2018 Operating Referendum. This information is designed to help the community participate and to share factual information related to the referendum, which expires in 2026.

Election Day

On Tuesday, polls open at 6:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. You will be able to vote at any of five locations. Choose whichever location is most convenient for you: Avon United Methodist Church, Bartlett Chapel, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Plainfield Christian Church, and Radiant Bible Church.

Understanding the Ballot Question

The state-government-approved question that will be on the ballot this November is confusing. In the video below, Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham explains what the ballot says and what it means.

How the Maximum Rate Works

The Board is asking for a maximum rate that is $0.02 lower than the rate voters approved in 2018. In this video, Dr. Wyndham describes the 'maximum tax rate' and how it works.

Using the Tax Calculator

Many voters want to know how the Referendum Renewal will impact them if it is successful. Dr. Wyndham introduces the online tax calculator and explains how to use it.
